Encore Flight Academy is the only FAA approved airplane flight school in Van Nuys. Only about 5% of flight schools in The United States are FAA approved. What will FAA approval do for our clients?

1. Structured Flight Training: Every flight lesson at Encore Flight Academy is based on a syllabus. This way we can ensure that all the training materials are comprehensively covered.
2. Each flight lesson is divided into three segments: pre-flight briefing, flight, and post-flight briefing. We will never take you up in an airplane to show you a maneuver before we have covered it in the classroom and practiced it first in one of our FAA approved flight simulators first. After each flight you will receive a complete debrief of your flight and your performance.
3. Standardized Flight Training: Since all of our flight instructors are flight instructors only at Encore Flight Academy, we have a very structured and standardized training. In other words, all of our instructors teach each particular maneuver in the same manner.
4. Our Flight Instructors routinely go through re-current training to ensure that they are up to date with all the new regulation changes and technology improvements.

Encore Flight Academy has the most sophisticated fleet of aircraft; we operate a fleet of Diamonds and Pipers, with a total of 12 aircrafts in our fleet. At this time, Encore Flight Academy operates five Diamond DA 20’s, Five Piper Warrior’s and Two Piper Senecas.

Most Private Pilot students really appreciate the Diamond DA20s. Diamonds have excellent performance, higher that most general aviation aircrafts available to rent at Van Nuys Airport. They also have bubble shaped canopies with excellent visibility. Not only are all of our Diamonds recent models, they all have Garmin 430 transponders with traffic overlay. This feature greatly enhances the flight safety in the busy airspace of Los Angeles.

We also operate Two Piper Senecas for multi engine training. Piper Seneca is an excellent platform for Multi Engine Training, with six seats and 400 total horse power. Most of our students at Encore Flight Academy use the Piper Senecas for Commercial and ATP Flight Training

Here at Encore Flight Academy we put great emphasis on Flight Simulator training. Encore Flight Academy was one of the first flight schools at Van Nuys airport to utilized Flight Simulator training in to its syllabus, which was done using Precision Flight Control Flight Simulator.

Precision Flight Control Flight Simulator (PFC) is FAA approved and can be used to log time for different parts of flight training. PFC has five 60 inch screens for wrap around views. You will also find a real Garmin G430 GPS unit in the flight simulator. We use this simulator for many aspects of the flight training, including situational awareness, wake turbulence avoidance procedure, adverse weather condition avoidance, bird strikes and many more .

For an even more realistic training experience, we also have an FAA approved full motion RedBird flight simulator. Precision Flight Control and Redbird are the two major manufacturers of high quality flight simulators for flight schools and general aviation.
